For some reason only the name of the last author is included when we're building our paper in projectmesa/mesa#2533.

I believe we're correctly following the syntax, is this a bug or do we need to fix something on our end?

It certainly looks correct. I'm trying to find out what's going wrong.

Looks like the LaTeX template doesn't work well if there are no affiliations. The rest of the system seems to work ok.

Temporary workaround: please use

affiliations:
  - index: 1
    name: 'no affiliation declared'

and add affiliation: 1 to each author.

I'm categorizing this as a bug, but maybe @arfon can chime in on how missing affiliations should be handled (and if that's "allowed").

We require affiliation information, even if the affiliation is 'No affiliation' :-)
