The latest tag of appAuth-android is Dec 23, 2021. It has been more than three years. Does the community have any plans for a new version? If so, approximately when will it be released?

Well, looking at the commits since 2021 there hasn't been any serious development except some housekeeping. The more important question is whether this project is still maintained? Honestly it feels abandoned since there hasn't been much activity here for the past years. Also noticing 24 open pull requests dating back up to 2018 doesn't give me the impression that contributions are welcome.
It's a crucial library for Android applications implementing OpenID and I'm not aware of any free, open-source alternatives. I would really feel reassured if there would be some more development / progress here 😓 Who knows if the library keeps working for future Android versions?
