This issue is for discussing the goals and layout of the survey we will put before end users. We'll likely want ot break it into additional issues for discussing particular aspects but those can be branched off as they come up in this issue.

• Did you have problems integrating with your vendor?

• Which technologies are you using: (just some possible examples from the discussion below)

• What collector are they using?

• Break down pain-point question into multiple per-topic questions

  • describe your experience/trouble configuring opentelemetry
  • describe your experience/trouble using the opentelemetry api
  • describe your experience/trouble integrating with your commonly used libraries
  • describe your experience/trouble integrating with your backend of choice

• How clear is the ecosystem on day 1 (1-5 ranking)?
  • issues being like tracing in rust and telemetry in erlang/elixir
• Where did you get your day 1 information on getting started with OpenTelemetry

• Does your vendor offer a distro?
  • Do you use it?
