Hi, I can confirm of that since we conditionally ask to record exception only if span is not ended. After getting exported from open telemetry, we see app insights recording this sent exception event as some with trace level verbose and some with trace level error but not as an exception. It is like even if we are sending an exception, azure app insights is deciding to categorize it differently. |

Is there any update on this issue? |

We have a OpenTelemetry implementation to record our traces over to app insights, Span.recordException doesn't successfully record a Span event as an exception, diag.setLogger confirms that an exception event has been created and trace stack is displayed as well but when checked over on app insights, we see call status as false but not see the exception event when looked over on app insights. NOTE: it works on one service but not on another hence I said not working consistently.
