[nx-release] how to look for commits after package rename?

We've renamed a package from app to newApp (so to speak) with @nx/workspace:move.

I would like to set up nx release, however, it doesn't take the commits with file changes in the old app folder into account. Only the commits after the rename.

Is it possible to specify for a certain project to look under other srces as well?
