Community post requests show in my main feed (still kind:1) #844
Comments
It shows in your main feed because you are following either the community or the author of the post. Following yourself will display your posts as well. Even with a separate kind, that is the expected behavior when marked in the "All Follows" list in the top bar |
To clarify, I'm using main feed to describe what my followers see. Expected behavior or not, I would probably disable seeing others New Post Requests even if I follow them, if I have the option. If global is a town square, and all follows is that filtered for the people I follow, then I see a community as a hall by the square where people interested in a Topic go in to converse without disturbing the square and vice versa. |
Is there an event to follow a community? |
Not specifically, the client just adds it to the |
We have kind 10004 in NIP-51. |
It was a surprise when I posted to a community and found that my post request showed up in my main feed. Looking at the details it seems it was posted as a
kind:1
which I thought must be a mistake, but here it is in the New Post Request section of NIP-72.Then I dug a bit, which took some time because GitHub's search isn't great at finding these references, and found that this was asked about and answered in the PR, but seemed to fall through the cracks since
kind:11
was maybe taken.Since it's being implemented quite a bit while still in
draft
state, seems it's better to fix this asap. Kind 11 is still available best I can tell. The text was updated successfully, but these errors were encountered:
