The nostr developer community is like a herd of roving cats. There are lots of fora, mostly embedded in nostr itself. In my experience, the github is the best place to ask for feedback on protocol-related proposals. You might also try the telegram group at @nostr_protocol, although it's largely off-topic or spam. I recently started a NIP 72 group called NostrTalk, which you can access at nostralk.org, but we'll see if it takes off. Welcome to the developer community, and good luck! |

@staab Omg thanks for the recommendations! I know GitHub Discussions is probably good, but I like real-time chats so I can run-by my ideas to people in shortform, before writing them out in longform as a proposal or something. I also like being able to see people's ideas live and give feedback on them :P I like ur frontend so far (it let me set my I also tried finding your pubkey but I didn't see anyone named "staab" in the "Nostr developers" users preset. Let know so I can NIP-17 you! |

I don't know about something like Discord, I'm also new to nostr myself (3 months working with it). We can go on a call if you'd like. Can you say your telegram username? The best way to find people by pubkeys that I know of is with njump, like my profile: |

@Vap0r1ze I'm @hodlbod on nostr. The nostrtalk.org project is a custom deployment of coracle.social, and the groups stuff has lots of known issues. It's a work in progress — I'm happy to take PRs if you're interested in contributing! |

Oo that'd be cool I think! Add me:
Okay I forget which NIP this is so I'll have to figure that out first so I can find ur pubkey.
Ah I'm guessing the "notes" I'm seeing are NostrTalk specific or something...
Yea I just might! It's very possible that I might end up making a frontend specifically for Nostr developers, as a learning exercise. Tysm for all the pointers! |

Small context: I've been wanting to make a protocol like Nostr for so long now, and only just recently after researching for the n-th time found that it already exists (to my delight)! I'm working on a few big-ish hobby projects that will be built on Nostr, and I'll be having to devise protocols and stuff to solve my problems.
Question: I'm wondering if there's something like an IRC channel or a Discord server for talking about Nostr-related development (something realtime). I'm sure it's something on Nostr but I'm not familiar enough with the culture or frontends enough to know how to find that, I only know the protocol itself from reading all the NIPs ;P.
Another small issue I have: I've started using nos2x, but I don't even know how to send
kind: 0
events from any of the popular frontends. nos2x has an "edit profile" button but the service it links to says it can't find my profile (I assume it's looking for existingkind: 0
events). I've tried making a few public posts and waiting a few days but still no avail...If you read all this, thank you! Seeing this protocol's development be so community-oriented has me extremely hyped for it's future. IMO the culture from what I've had shown to me on trending pages is kinda niche, but I see so much potential in this..
