There used to be an entry (the only entry!) in the github wiki FAQ about running in low memory. It looks like the wiki has been deleted without moving its contents to other documentation / website. Consider this issue a request to have this documented. (and a complaint that the issue about deleting the wiki should not have been closed until its contents were properly moved to a maintained location, not an unadvertised archive repo).

@jasnell has this option been added to the documentation or website yet? I couldn't see it.

Given that it's a V8 flag and we have a general stance about not documenting V8 flags, no it has not. The wiki docs that were removed had been backed up in the wiki-archive repository and the documentation is still in there, as @Trott mentioned.
