In Bitcoin's official git repository there are nicely setup icons and menu shortcuts. That isn't the case here, are there plans to fix this? I'm asking this because I want to update the package in the Arch Linux User Repository. There is a older package there that is broken and lacks icons and menu shortcuts.

I don't use icons or menus. I'm more of a command-line kind of guy.
We do accept pull requests if you are willing to do the work yourself. It's usually a case of carefully merging the Bitcoin changes into the CLAM tree - much like that last bug you found turned out to be.
It might take a bit before I upload something but I'll take a look at doing so. (If someone else wants to take a crack, go for it) In the meantime I did update the old AUR package to meet AUR4 standards which creates the GUI and daemon. So at least those who use the AUR can get something.
