Two icons in the tray of Thunderbird 45.5.0 #169

To add to this; specifically, the problem I've seen is a pair of problems combined: a tray icon is created for a write window regardless of whether "Use for Write windows" is checked on the preferences dialog..and then a write window icon is never removed when the write window is closed by discarding or sending the message. It just sticks around forever (although, interestingly enough, it takes ownership of future write windows). Now, if you create a second new mail at the same time (again, even with "Use for Write windows" turned off), you get a third tray icon (one for the application, two for the write windows), but the third one seems to disappear as it should. It just never drops back down to a single tray icon again. |

I'm also experiencing this issue, exactly as @trajanmcgill describes, using Thunderbird 45.5.1 on Linux Mint 18.1. |
I'm also experiencing this issue using Thundebird on Manjaro Linux. |
Bachsau, different problem. In this case the second window is titled WRITE. It is not another main Thunderbird window which I, and quite a few others I suspect, have also had. |
Hi Nils,
often I have two Thunderbird icons in my tray. If I move over them, one of them shows the tooltip (hint): "write" (in german "Verfassen - kein Betreff".
I see this icons still after I sent the new created mail.
Thank you,
Nils Hoyer
PS
If I re-open the Thunderbird window ... it would be nice, if Thunderbird would request new mails immediately. ... but only my suggestion...
