Fork, Commit, Merge - Easy Issue 1 (Python)

Simple Python Program to Interact with Lists

Note: You don't have ask permission to start solving the issue or get assigned, since these issues are supposed to be always open for new contributors. The actions-user bot will reset the file back to previous state for the next contributor after your commit is merged. So you can just simply start working with the issue right away!

The aim of this task is to create a Python script that creates a list of numbers and performs simple operations on it. Specifically, the program should create a list of the first 10 natural numbers (1 through 10), print the list and print the sum of the numbers in the list.

Acceptance Criteria:

  • The program should create a list of the first 10 natural numbers.
  • The program should print the created list to the console.
  • The program should print the sum of the numbers in the list.

Hint: You can use Python's built-in sum function to calculate the sum of numbers in a list.

Start by opening the tasks/python/easy directory from the root of the project.
Then open number_list.py file and start working on your solution!

To test the program, you can run python3 tasks/python/easy/number_list.py to see if it works as expected.

To work with this issue, you need to have Python installed to your local machine.
Check out README.md for more instructions of installing Python and how to make a pull request.

Feel free to ask any questions here if you have some problems!

Also, kindly give this project a star to enhance its visibility for new developers!

hi @nikohoffren !

Hope you are enjoying a good day of coding! I submitted a PR for this challenge. Please review it when you get a chance.

I also just wanted to say thank you for creating such a great way for new contributors to get used to making open source commits. I am a TS/React developer trying to relearn the python I learned in college a while ago and this is such an easy and fun way to practice that! Kudos to you and everyone else involved in making this repo, and I will definitely be checking out the other repos with real issues you mentioned to make more contributions!
