Errorf: autosaved cannot continue with an unborn head. please make an initial commit and try again

Getting the above error for the first save. Any other step is needed (to make the initial commit)?

Hi Vinayak.
The error is referring to a Git commit. If you are working on a new repository, you need to make an initial commit with git commit first.

(autosaved tracks changes from the active Git branch - which won't be present if there are no commits in the repository)
