My cooleagues and I were wondering whether it was imperative that we used a serial port in order to connect the computer running Matlab to the stimulator used in our experiment.
We also realized while adapting our code from a MagStim to a MagVenture stimulator that there is no equivalent for the "poke" function for the MagVenture stimulator. We are using the Psychtoolbox and the Waitsecs function to time the rpresentation of stimuli in our experiment, so we were wondering if there was any alternatives that we should use to prevent the interruption of communication between the computer and the stimulator due to the use of waitsecs.
Finally, we wanted to inquire about the different modes of the MagVenture stimulator that we can use as they are not described in details in the wiki page of the toolbox(i.e., 'Standard', 'Power', 'Twin' and 'Dual'), so that we can determine which setting would be ideal for us.
