Columns not sorting by Date

I'm relatively new to Tables, but I've been trying to set it up to manage my car maintenance from a proprietary Android app. My first Column is a date field, but even though I input them by date, I've noticed that a lot of times the table is just all skewed and records are mixed up. In the web interface, I can pick a sort by Descending and it's fine, but using the Android app, I don't see a way to sort by column, so the records are out of order.

Is there something I'm doing wrong, or is there a glitch with the interface?
