Create Documentation for Using VMs with OpenShift Virtualization and Uploading Images

Objective:
This issue aims to provide comprehensive documentation for using OpenShift Virtualization on NERC, allowing users to perform all relevant operations with their own virtual machines. The documentation will serve as a complete guide for the following tasks:

  • OpenShift Virtualization on NERC Documentation
Users should be able to easily understand and navigate the available resources and instructions for using OpenShift Virtualization.

  • Creating a Virtual Machine in Their Own Project Allocation
Document the process of setting up a virtual machine in their allocated project space, including using custom cloud images.
    Related issue: #740

  • Creating Snapshots & Reverting Back and Forth to Those Snapshots
Provide a step-by-step guide for creating and managing snapshots of virtual machines, as well as instructions for reverting to previous states.
    Related issue: #754

  • SSH Access to Their Virtual Machines
Instructions on configuring SSH access to the virtual machines.
    Related issue: #724

  • Migration of the VM Between Hosts
Document the process of migrating virtual machines between hosts for load balancing or maintenance purposes.
    Related issue: #721

  • Using GPUs with Their Virtual Machines
Guidance on configuring and using GPU support within virtual machines.
    Related issue: #725

  • Exposing HTTP and Non-HTTP Services from Their VM
Instructions on how to expose services from virtual machines, including both HTTP and non-HTTP services.
    Related issues:

    • Exposing HTTP services: #728
    • Exposing non-HTTP services: #728

Outcome:
The documentation will enable users to perform all necessary operations with their own virtual machines, from creation and management to advanced tasks such as GPU usage and live migration. It will also streamline onboarding for new users and provide a comprehensive reference for existing users, enhancing the overall experience with OpenShift Virtualization in the NERC environment.
