Description
Introduces a private method,
normalizeTypeDefinitions, which maps to the "Type Definitions Normalization" stage of the schema generation lifecycle. It includes a commented block of what the future could look like, but for now mirrors the current functionality. We should consider how to deal with GraphQL extensions in our schema generation and translation layer, to see if we can unlock this approach.For now, this PR just reduces the number of types we accept for type definitions, down to types which we understand and use day to day.
