推荐使用 [email protected]以上，文档示例却是1.7.6，是否应该保持一致，或使用最新的版本？

使用最新版本就可以，最低要求是>=1.8,教程中的~/.bash_profile是给的示例，具体以安装的版本为准。稍后会更新教程的文档。
