Conduct a personal SDOT analysis. By answering the following questions, consider the key areas you want to improve. Remember to refer to the development plan you have already been working on:

  • Strengths: What are you great at? What makes you stand out? What positive comments do people say about your strengths? What are your greatest achievements?
  • Weaknesses: What hard and soft skills do you need to work on? Where do you need to improve? What holds you back? What key habits do you want to overcome? What do others say about your development areas?
  • Opportunities: Who can help you achieve your goals? What can you do differently to become more employable? How can you go the extra mile? How can you create opportunities?
  • Threats: What could stop you from achieving your career goals? What do you need to stop doing now? What's out of your control?

Write your analysis down.

Hi, @kfklein15 I think the spelling of SDOT might be wrong, it might be SWOT. Apologies, I am mentioning this point in the comment box.

Strengths:
Design and organisation are totally my jam. I've got a knack for creating visually appealing stuff and keeping everything in order.
Being a non-native English speaker actually sets me apart. It brings a different perspective to the table and adds some diversity to the mix.
Despite English not being my first language, folks often say I'm pretty good at getting my point across. Communication's key, right?
Back when I was managing that school in Iran, with 700 students no less, I proved I've got some serious leadership chops.
Even though I don't have much experience in the tech industry, I do have a solid educational background. I graduated in both information technology and software engineering, so the knowledge is there.

Weaknesses:
I've gotta level up both my tech skills, like software engineering, and my English game to really make it big in the tech world.
Sometimes, I let those nagging doubts and fears hold me back from going after what I want.
Juggling everything—school, single mom life, and chasing my tech dreams—can be a real challenge. Time management's definitely an area I need to work on.
Others might say I need to brush up on my English and get more tech-savvy to really excel in the industry.

Opportunities:
Finding a mentor or joining a support group could really give me the boost I need to reach my goals.
There are so many courses and workshops out there to help me beef up my skills and become a hot commodity in the tech job market.
Getting involved in tech communities and networking events could open up some awesome doors for me.
With my background in management and IT, I've already got a leg up in the industry.
Plus, I'm diving into coding and trying to carve out my path in the tech world. Sure, I might be new to the scene, but I'm eager to learn and make my mark.

Threats:
I've gotta watch out for those negative thoughts and self-doubt—they're real career killers.
Balancing everything on my plate—school, mom duties, career aspirations—is no joke. It could trip me up if I'm not careful.
And hey, life's full of surprises. Economic downturns, job market craziness, you name it—some things are just out of my control. But hey, that won't stop me from giving it my all and chasing my dreams in the tech world!

I love what you've said here, I can see that ChatGPT has edited it (which I would avoid - I'd rather hear from you raw and unfiltered so I can give you feedback on your English and help you improve), but it makes sense. I'd love to hear more about the school in Iran sometime, that's a massive achievement and certainly relevant
