Potentially it might be useful to include 'prayers' in some way at some point in the policy calculation.

Prayers are part of the negative procedure - and while not technically connected to anything they're the clearest part of that process.

they're a subset of EDMs - which there isn't a lot of value in including (but we're also picking up non-substancial motions elsewhere...).

Options would be to have it as a kind of division with some special case around 'winning' language.

But in principle it is a third kind of thing - that is one-directional (motion has a direction, all associated people support it, like agreements) but partial (like divisions - deals with individuals rather than collective decisions).

Called 'no day motions' in other Parliaments (which tbh isn't actually that much clearer). "Proposed Motion"?

Not part of negative procedure in SP (commitees review and flag) need to check the others.

LIH uses the API to get the details:
Edm https://oralquestionsandmotions-api.parliament.uk/EarlyDayMotions/list?parameters.isPrayer=true&parameters.statuses=Published

Doing prayers alone would be very low volume - could rescrape them all every night.

A bit of discussion at climate standup that we could improve EDM coverage in LIH.

(Within general stipulation that EDMs are usually not substantial - they are signally which isn't useless for campaigners).

Even if not linked into policy generation - the general tagging system would be useful for feeding climate related things into LIH.
