The 'delivery logs' features for sent messages to institutions is great!
It made us think that maybe it could be possible to include some kind of confirm receipt/acknowledge receipt button on messages sent to EU institutions so that they can click and AsktheEU.org can show the user that an official has read it (not only that it has been delivered?)
Another use of acknowledgement of receipt/confirm receipt could be applied to when users receive a reply from EU institutions - when they click on the link in an automated email, it sends some kind of read receipt to the institution so they have certainty that the requester has read the message. This could then appear on the website in the same way the 'delivered' log does (and maybe have a way for users to say they have read the message if they do not do so via the automatic email).
For AsktheEU.org this would be a super-useful feature, but not sure where its so useful for the rest of the Alaveteli community.
Best
