As part of the anti-spam measures, threads are closed to new responses after a period of time.

We have had user feedback, stating that they would like to be notified if a message that was intended to be sent to one of their requests had been bounced by the system.

They envisage this being in the form of a drop down labled 'send additional logs to account holder' or similar.

This would enable them to chase us to reopen the thread, or the authority.

Regulatory delays often mean that requests are closed to new responses by the time that any appeal has concluded.

It may not be easy to separate out genuine authority responses from spam - any domain matching would be ineffective for smaller authorities who still use services like gmail or hotmail.
