The course recommendation is to install Chrome Canary to get access to the most bleeding edge web features. The developer tools in Chrome Canary allow you to see the Service Worker lifecycle, among many other valuable features.

Note: I use the latest version of Chrome on Mac for this course, which includes all the features you need to manage Service Workers. You can access the Service Worker features from the Chrome developer tools under the Application tab.
