There's a couple of sites (including github) where I have "Always open", but "Remember my decision for this site" is unchecked. It's because when navigating from another site or a messenger app I would rather click the button, choosing the container than opening in an undesired container and then reopen
manually.

However, there's one exception: when I'm already browsing Github and open a Github resource in a new tab the addon asks for the container too.

I think it would be a more user-friendly default behavior if when opening hyperlinks that lead to the same site in a new tab would open it in the current container without asking.

I'm not sure why you would leave that unchecked.

Unless you'll need to login multiple accounts (different GitHub/Fb/Twitter.etc), you would normally check that box immediately after ticking "Always open in X container" and I'm not sure what undesired container means.

You are in control of your containers (exception with Temporary Containers. I've gone deeper into this add-on and I know what it can really do.)

I know MA-C doesn't open tabs in an actual container. I mean, Default / Current is literally "No Container" and we use Temporary Container to counter that.

Basically, the meaning of "Always Open in X container' = "I want to open X site in X container."
'Remember my decision for this site' locks that site into that specific container.

Using GitHub as example:

I want 'GitHub.com' to 'Always Open In Forums' container.

The add-on is basically asking you: Are you sure you want to always open GitHub.com in Forums container? And ticking 'Remember decision' = Yes, I'm sure I want to always open GitHub in Forums.
Thus locking it into place.

Also, middle clicking links will always open links in their current active container. Once again, I'll use GitHub and Forums as example.

On GitHub, you have navigate to many locations and now want to go back home. Instead of basically entering "GitHub.com" in the address again, you can middle click the top icon to open "GitHub.com" in Forums container.

Now, if you wanted to open GitHub.com in Forums2 container, you basically right-click > reopen in container and select Forums2. And you can open in more than 2 containers as long as you don't have "Remember my decision" ticked.

"Remember my decision" locks it in place. You will not be able to use multiple accounts.

edit:
You can leave "Always Open in" ticked. However, you'll always see that prompt to ask which container you would like to assign it in. If that doesn't bother you (every single time) then, feel free to ignore me ;)

I find having that tick does help though, even without confirming a specific container.
