Description

Devices sharing same name are displayed as a single device on the "connected services" section, making it impossible to log out of the older device without logging out from both devices.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Install Firefox on Android and log in to Mozilla account. Do not edit the device name automatically assigned.
  2. Factory reset the Android device.
  3. Reinstall Firefox and log in to Mozilla account. The same name will be assigned to the recently reset device.
  4. Visit https://accounts.firefox.com/settings and check connected services.

Expected result

Two seperate devices with same name should be visible.

Actual result

Only the latest device (according to last access column) is visible on connected services. However, two seperate devices are visible on Firefox UI (e.g. when sending tabs).

Environment

Nightly 131, Android 11

Thanks for filing this issue. This isn't on our roadmap to address in the near future but we'll keep it in the backlog to look at when we revisit that code.
