Sometimes Firefox opens the tabs that I have left open previous time in a corresponding external app instead of showing them as they were. As far as I understand, Firefox for iOS is not supposed to open links in external apps in Private Mode.

I noticed that this happens when I re-open Firefox after closing it manually and when launching it for the first time after device reboot.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open YouTube and play a video in a private tab
  2. Close Firefox
  3. Launch it again

Expected behavior

Private tab opens in Firefox

Actual behavior

Private tab opens in YouTube app without asking

Device & build information

  • Device: iPad 9th gen, iOS 16.7
  • Build version: 117.2 (33911)
  • First seen version: ?

Found an easy way to reproduce it: just search for "funny videos" on google.com (in private mode) and click on any video result coming from YouTube - Firefox opens them in the YouTube app every time.
