Unable to catkin build: fatal error: numpy/arrayobject.h: No such file or directory

This is what i get:

I get a simalar error with the compiler complaining
handeye_solver_default.h:53:31:�[m�[K �[01;31m�[Kfatal error: �[m�[Knumpy/arrayobject.h: No such file or directory
Have you managed to fix it?

edit: The following solved the issue for me
sudo apt-get install --reinstall python-numpy
