It would be great to be able to use Nextcloud (or WebDAV-targets in general) as a storage option for recorded videos/images.

It is only a matter of mapping a drive in the base OS with motioneye to your storage. With motionEyeOS, it's a bit more complicated, but DropBox and GDrive are already options.
