Describe the bug

There is no way to add Alt Text for the images you put in cards for the smart menus. Also, if you do not add pictures, there is no default image for the card and you just get a broken link icon.

To Reproduce

Create a smart menu using Cards
Add pictures for card
No way to include ALT text
Gets flagged for accessibility

Expected behavior
I expect to be able to make the menus fully accessible by adding alt. text.

Desktop (please complete the following information):

  • OS: Mac OS Sonoma
  • Browser Chrome
  • Version

Additional context
Moodle 4.5

Hello Emma,

thanks for reporting this issue.
Beside the necessary option to implement ALT text
(https://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG20-TECHS/H36.html).
It is not working for my screenreader at that stage ...
I am currently working on a useful userstory to make the navigation points (tiles) a11y compatible.

Thanks for your patience

Thanks! I love those menus and it would be nice to be able to use them - but Colorado is now enforcing accessibility on all government websites and allowing us to be sued starting in July! So, that is my life right now!
