Any thoughts on this? link

I guess personal scripts will become obsolete for questrade.

Yeah, it sucks...

I tried to contact Questrade to see what was involved in getting a partner API account but they haven't responded...
I might end up automating their private API but I'm not sure if I'll release that publicly. Seems too risky if they change something which makes buying or selling do something unexpected.
I think it uses WebSockets as well which would be more of a pain.

Another option is InteractiveBrokers as they seem to still have their API but they cost a min of $10 a month unless you have over 100k USD or if you do over $10 in fees of trading then that fee goes to zero.
I don't trade enough to make that worth while, plus they have extra fees for RRSPs and TFSAs.

Let me know if you think of anything else.

I'm guessing partner api is just for those who can offer a service (like passiv). For others to actually use the scripts, would need (actual) infrastructure to auth.

I doubt creating an api wrapping around websockets would be hard.

Know any other brokers that offer api access?
