.deb generated is (always?) native #199
Comments
I don't get what lintian wants here. The description of the issue only says what native debian packages should do. Does it want changelog in a non-standard directory? Which one then? |
I parse it as "this package shouldn't be native". Which I think is right, since the contexts of the .deb is not Debian specific. |
It's unclear to me whether this is a technical concept (what bytes in the package make it non native?) or only a theoretical or administrative one (certain names or package sources are blessed) |
https://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/debmake-doc/ch05.en.html#native Section 5.5 explains a bit. It could be better but well, it's a thread to pull 😊 |
I've found sample "3.0" packages here: https://people.debian.org/~hertzog/packages/debsrc3.0/sample3_1.0-1_all.deb and I don't see them specifying the version. |
lintian is reporting this:
I don't see a why to specify that the package to generate is non-native.
