First activation of external playlist: Empty view

After activating (= selecting) the first external playlist in the sidebar the corresponding library table view stays empty. It is only updated and filled after selecting the same playlist again or by selecting any other playlist.

Which external library is affected?
Can you give a step by step receipt o reproduce the issue?

Current 2.3-alpha is also affected.
This is IMHO a think we should fix before release, because it is a scary situation.
