Visual bug after Options covers up the console

I was able to reproduce this in the HL2 game on PC with the -gamepadui launch option, in Windows:

Just launch the game, pull up the console, then open and close the Options Menu. A partial console window can be seen but not used. Pressing the console bind one time will make it go away.
