Add Paint.NET #18945
Comments
It's not possible yet due to issue #174 |
Oh, so I should I close this, or should we keep it open to track Paint.NET package? |
Leave it open in case it works out in the future. |
It's on the store if that helps? |
Know that they recently started using GitHub releases for download. Still as |
I don't think that helps much. How should winget-cli handle paid Microsoft Store applications? Also, winget-cli has no logic to detect Microsoft Store UWP apps. Not Win32 apps either where Microsoft Store id is used, for example Microsoft PowerToys. |
I asked the developers if they can load to github in compatible format |
Until winget supports MSI inside ZIP: Not tested it from Intune yet. But should work. :) Edit 220307: Tested and working from Intune. |
Made a request on paint.net's forums to release as .exe or .msi for winget integration. |
Seems like the developers have no plans to make .exe or .msi this leave this blocked until winget has zip support as linked. |
Indeed. The paint.net dev responded to my request on their forum and stated as such. |
Here's my direct quote on the matter. Basically, winget can do the work once, rather than requiring every app developer out there to change how they do releases. (every app developer who releases ZIPs, that is)
|
Looks like the issue for ZIP support has been moved to the winget-cli repo instead for anyone looking for link to blocker |

Paint.NET is a very popular image editor, much like Notepad++. Both scoop and chocolatey have it. Download link: https://www.dotpdn.com/files/paint.net.4.2.16.install.zip
