Problem

In the sole official documentation about GitExtension API, we can read that:

The Git extension exposes an API, reachable by any other extension.

• Copy src/api/git.d.ts to your extension's sources;
• Include git.d.ts in your extension's compilation.

Thus, the only way to get the declaration file for the GitExtension API is to manually copy-paste this file, and not using any package management

Proposed Solution

Publish the git extension API on NPM
