Environment data

VS Code version: 1.18.1
Python Extension version: 0.8.0 Microsoft
Python Version: does not matter
OS and version: Windows

Actual behavior

Every time I open VScode I get this error message. I click "Disable linter" and message disappers. But next time I get it gain. Also, empty .vscode folder is created. I don't want this folder if it empty. I don't need this folder - it's just junk for me.

Expected behavior

Don't show me this error after I clicked "Disable linter"

Steps to reproduce:

  • Install/enable Python extension
  • Open code for python files.
  • Get Error message and click Disable linter
  • Close VScode and open it again
