WSL2 linux distro is getting IP of different subnet than the host machine

I have updated to WSL2 and I have noticed that my linux distro that I have installed is getting an ip address of another subdomain (different from the host pc). How do I change network mode to bridged so that the ip address that the linux is getting is on the same subnet as the host machine?

Anyone knows how to do that. I tried installing Hyper-V but I can't see the vm there.

You can't do that because WSL2 uses a lightweight VM that creates a virtual switch on first launch. You can try opening the Virtual Switch Manager inside the Hyper-V Manager and change its properties there but that will only lasts for that Windows session.

It is shame that is not giving you the option to select if you want a bridge mode

WSL2 doesn't use a normal VM but a container. You can only see it from elevated Powershell with hcsdiag list.

Anyway the WSL2 network story needs improvement. It's being discussed in #4150

Currently I cannot develop .net core on windows and have it run on wsl engine. it is very hard. Is there anything I can do to put the WSL2 and my host on the same subnet?
