I am exploring possiblities with bot framework composer and checking how hard it is to add custom adapters

The Bot Builder Community has created custom adapters for some services, which you can find in their Github repo, along with implementation instructions. These may help answer your questions, and you can use them in your bot. Do note that since these are Community adapters, Microsoft will not directly support them.
