2024 Planning

I've been preparing to make some changes to michaellamb.dev and it's become a plan for a larger project in general. I think it will be helpful to start tracking it via GitHub, so I'll kick off this discussion here and update as I go.

I have begun some preliminary plans and documented them privately. I will begin to migrate some of those docs to my blog via new posts and this discussion thread (as needed for review).

The focus of the first phase will be on upgrading the Pi cluster from 32-bit OSes to 64-bit. A number of problems were caused by my inattention to detail when setting up the cluster years ago and it is now time to take the steps to correct this mistake.

The cluster will be updated 2 nodes at a time, with the first 2 upgraded nodes ideally being able to host the current apps available on michaellamb.dev. Additionally, some sort of orchestration technology will be employed for running applications.
