Reload button works great if user is the owner of the app, otherwise the user will get access denied.

Same issue here for version 3.2. I have tried the Security rule workaround as well but no success. Is there any other solution to bypass this issue?

It's awhile ago, but anyway. I had a similar issue and I had to create a rule that allowes to read the Connection in the App.
To do a quick test you can create a simple rule that allows all users read access to all connections.
But you should do this only for testing and only on your dev/test server ;-)
