After a Maya object has been exported to Unreal using Export Selected Asset to Unreal. The assets source location in Unreal points to the temporary location where the file was imported from.

Investigate if it is possible to

  • Clear this source location attribute
  • Point to the original Maya scene that contained the export

The main reason for this is you should not have the ability to reimport the asset from the temp location, as that location may not exist, or worse there could be an entirely different asset existing in that location.
