Do these functions still exist? I can not find them in the current textfield foundation:
https://github.com/material-components/material-components-web/blob/master/packages/mdc-textfield/foundation.js

They still exist in the documentation.

Good catch... these APIs were removed from the foundation back in #2201, but the readme was never updated. I've noticed a couple of other missing updates, so I'll send a PR.
