App shortcuts #16
Comments
Duplicate of #2 |
Actually, I think there's a difference. #2 is about widgets, while this is about shortcuts. PWAs are shortcuts, not widgets, but I don't know much about the difference between the two. |
Thanks for using it! 😄 And yes, this is definitely on the roadmap! I'd like to support PWAs as much as possible. But as you can see it's not easy 😉 Actually, PWAs can be widgets, shortcuts or even a fully featured app (see https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/Progressive_web_apps/Developer_guide/Installing). |
Okay. Thanks for the clarification! I haven't worked with the backend here, so I'm still learning. In most launchers, long-pressing on an app lets you access it's shortcuts, so I assumed that icons added by browsers were the same. Apparently I was mistaken :-) That could just be the differences between Chromium and Firefox (though, again, I'm not too sure), but then this issue can be for shortcuts (like messaging people on Signal, opening a new tab in Chromium/Firefox, starting a new session in Termux, etc. - see screenshot from Omega Launcher), while the other issues can be for widgets? |
Thank you so much for making this launcher! I love how easy and simple it is to use!
My only problem with the app is that I can't add shortcuts or PWAs to my homescreen. Is there any chance this could be added to your roadmap?
Thank you!
