Has anyone tried using the POS tagger with medical conversations in a non-American, english setting?

It might sound like crazy talk, and I may not even know what I'm getting myself into, but I think I'll give it a shot..
To put it in context, I was sharing the lexicon with a clinician and their first response.. "why is everything American" (they were not American). The fact they responded so quickly about this was a bit surprising. It must have been very evident to them.
