Curl RVM gives "GPG signature verification failed", extra step required

On the 5th step of ruby & RVM setup, the command "curl -L https://get.rvm.io | bash -s stable" gave me a CPG signature verification failed error. As prompted, I downloaded the signatures:

"gpg --keyserver hkp://keys.gnupg.net --recv-keys 409B6B1796C275462A1703113804BB82D39DC0E3"

And then the original command worked fine.
