I want to record 32 channels to all different files but I can't find how to do so?

So if you initialize the device with a channel count of zero in the device config, miniaudio will use the device's native channel count and should pass it through to your callback unmodified except for sample format conversion and resampling, if necessary. This is assuming your device natively supports 32 channels or course.

deviceConfig.capture.channels = 0; // <-- This will tell miniaudio to use the "native" channel count as reported by the backend.

To output each channel to a separate file, you'll need to deinterleave the samples and make sure you're outputting to the correct format (easiest way is to specify the format in the device config). Then it's just a matter doing standard file I/O.

My main problem is that when I tell my audio device to use for example 32 channels, it uses a channel mapping from which channel 4,5,6 don't work. How can I fix this elegantly? I currently just have a lists of working channel positions and give every channel one.

Does your hardware actually support 32 channels? I wonder if miniaudio is unable to determine an appropriate mapping between what you asked for, and what the backend is actually using.

Can you compile with #define MA_DEBUG_OUTPUT (or put in in your build settings) and post the output? It'll print some stuff to stdout, including the channel map, which should provide more intelligence as to what's going on.

I currently do not have access to the device, but it's a SQ6 which is a mixer that does support up to 32 channels, but I was able to replicate the bug on my USB mic at home. So I'll try it on that and on my SQ6 once I have access to it.
