When I create an SSHFS mount choosing to add an icon to sidebar, the icon appears under "Favorites". I believe it should be under "Devices" or "Shared".
I could drag the icon down, but next time I mounted the remote directory I got icons in both "Favorites" and "Devices".
I'm running OS X Mavericks 10.9.0 on a Mid-2009 MacBook Pro.

If I may add, it would also be better if the icon appears with its full name, e.g. username@host, and the icon that was chosen for it. Not that it is so important, but would be nice touch. Regards.
@grootknol maybe this link will be answer your question.
@bobef, the icon sadly cannot be changed on the sidebar, this is a problem with OS X that I've already reported and others have reported. This however has not been resolved.
