Announcing WordPressify v0.5.0
After more than two years, I am excited to share an official release update on GitHub Discussions! WordPress has evolved significantly, making it easier than ever to create modern, secure, and high-performance websites without reinventing the wheel. The new block-based themes are a game-changer, allowing developers to build WYSIWYG websites that clients can manage effortlessly with intuitive blocks and patterns.
In this release, we introduce a minimalist, block-based theme as the default, simplifying content structure by removing all PHP template files in favor of HTML templates with block markup. This change enhances flexibility and aligns with the latest in WordPress theme development.
A key enhancement in this version is the improved file management in builds. WordPressify now automatically removes deleted files from the build folder, addressing an issue in previous versions where deleted files would temporarily remain in the build.
Auto Deploy
Another milestone is the addition of comprehensive documentation for automatic deployments. With GitHub Actions integration, deployments can now be triggered simply by committing to the
main
branch. For details on setting up auto-deployments, see the documentation: Auto Deploy Documentation.Changelog
