Distribution

LMDE 6

Package version

1.8.3

Frequency

Always

Bug description

With version of 1.8.3, I can't connect two computers that are connected to the same table 16 port switch.
One computer sees the other, other doesn't see second at all. Same computer, same system.
LMDE 6 with same updates.

I wouldn't be upset if it was for some specific, very distinguish machines, and OS-es... Or even different Linux Distributions. But it's basically the same.
Warpinator is broken. Again. Warpinator wasn't ever reliable tool, but very convinient. So please, fix it.

Steps to reproduce

No steps to reproduce. It doesn't work. Tried to reset DNS, DHCP, eth0 settings. And reinstall everything. It just doesn't work.

Expected behavior

It should work and two computers supposed to be connected.

  1. Are both devices on the same subnet? (First three parts of local IP the same on both devices.)
  2. Launch warpinator settings on both devices and go to the connections tab. Are the port numbers the same on both devices? (By default, they should be 42000 for the first and 42001 for the second on both devices.)
  3. Are you having the same group code on both devices?
  4. Maybe you're blocked by a firewall? Launch firewall configuration from the OS menu and make sure it's disabled - or click the Add Firewall rules button in warpinator settings and reboot both machines
  5. If that all doesn't work, make sure warpinator isn't running, then run the following command in the terminal app of both computers and then give me the output: warpinator --debug
    I hope this helps!

Under File>Preferences>Connection
set your Network interface to use to your Wifi/Ethernet instead of Automatic
