I've written in the reddit comments but copy/pasting the issue here:

I'm trying to get GameBoy and GameBoy Color boot screens to appear for the mGBA Core running Retroarch on 3DS and I'm having issues. As you can see in the video, the bios files are recognized and the mGBA specific options to get the boot screens to appear are set appropriately: Use BIOS file if found set to ON & Skip BIOS intro set to OFF.

I've tried putting the BIOS files in various other locations on my SD card and changing the "System" folder in Retroarch settings to them, but it didn't help. Currently using the default retroarch/cores/system folder as the bios root. I've checked the md5 hashsums of each bios file and all of them match the hashsums listed on the mGBA libretro docs. The video shows Pokemon Yellow booting on GBC, but no boot screens appear for Pokemon Red/Blue on SGB either. I haven't tried any GBA games yet.

Here are the logs for launching and exiting Pokemon Yellow: https://pastebin.com/CAhkbms5

I believe this is a bug with the core. It was present in all the builds I've used so far; currently on 1.9.8 (70ed83c). Thank you for the work you're doing!
