When you run this game, only the blue screen appears. YS II runs well. Is there any solution?

What core settings are you using?

You can play in web browser at: https://www.file-hunter.com/MSX/index.php?id=ys1

This is useful as you can also look at settings that are known to run the game successfully and try to apply them to RetroArch.

BUT having looked at this I think it just doesn't work in fMSX, I tried standalone fMSX on macOS and the same error happens.

However, this game works just fine in BlueMSX.

I know that the game runs well on Bluemsx. But I use retroarch on the Nintendo Switch. Currently, the retroarch of Switch does not run because Bluemsx is in error.

We'll have to ask at the source of the emulator https://fms.komkon.org/fMSX/fMSX.html

The emulator author may know why this game is not working.

I've emailed Marat, with a link to this issue, and mentioned that a number of different versions of fMSX have been tried:

  • fMSX v6.0 (RetroArch)
  • fMSX v6.0 (macOS X)
  • fMSX v6.0 (Windows) see below
